Hi, I’m Jennifer DeVito, founder of Evolution, a woman-owned construction and real estate company. As a single mom and entrepreneur, my mornings matter. They set the tone not just for how I lead, but for how I show up for my team, my family, and myself.
In this post, I’m sharing the intentional habits and rituals that keep me grounded, focused, and inspired. These practices are simple but powerful, and they help me build a strong foundation for both business and life. My hope is that they encourage you to create a morning routine that fuels your energy, strengthens your mindset, and reminds you of your purpose and power.
So let’s get real. Here’s a look inside my personal morning routine and the small choices I make each day to stay consistent, motivated, and ready for whatever comes my way.
Why Morning Routines Matter for Entrepreneurs
Starting your day right is not just about writing a to-do list. It is about creating mindset rituals that ground you before the world pulls you in a dozen directions.
For entrepreneurs and leaders, mornings are when you set your energy, build clarity, and reconnect with your purpose. I have found that when I start my day with intention, I lead with more focus, balance, and resilience whether I am running a construction project, managing a team, or being present for my daughters.
My Morning Non-Negotiables
Here are the simple but powerful practices that I swear by every morning:
Inspirational reminders in my bathroom: The first thing I do when I wake up is brush my teeth. In my bathroom, by my sink I have printed out quotes that I love and drawings my girls have made me. Those small visual cues anchor my mindset before I even check my phone.
Achievements and affirmations in my closet: My closet is filled with medals, hats and quotes that remind me of the discipline and grit it took to achieve milestones like completing 29029 (twice!) and HYROX. It is my daily reminder that if I can push through endurance training, I can push through other challenges.
Coffee with meaning: Inspired by Sara Blakely’s #MugShotMonday, I have collected mugs that carry messages and stories. Each morning, when I make my cappuccino, I intentionally choose a mug that reflects the energy I want to carry into my day. It is a simple ritual, but it sets my focus.
How My Morning Routine Evolved
Over time, I realized that leadership begins at home with yourself. The more grounded I became in my mornings, the more present and powerful I became throughout the day.
Now, my bathroom, closet, and kitchen are not just spaces. They are touchpoints that remind me of who I am, what I have accomplished, and what I am building.
A Simple Shift You Can Try
If you are just starting to build your own morning routine, keep it simple.
Put an inspiring quote where you will see it first thing in the morning. Need some inspiration? Check out our Pinterest.
Place a small reminder of something you have achieved where you get dressed.
Choose a mug, a journal, or an item that sparks intentional energy.
These little habits create a ripple effect. The smallest shifts in how you start your day can completely change how you show up as a leader, a parent, or a business owner.
Your Blueprint for a Powerful Morning
The truth is, the most successful routines don’t happen by accident, they’re built with intention! That’s why I created a free resource, Blueprint for a Powerful Morning, to help you design a morning routine that works for you.

Final Thoughts
My morning routine is not fancy or complicated. It is intentional. And that is the key.
By surrounding myself with visual reminders and meaningful habits, I set the tone for how I lead, how I parent, and how I live.
If you are navigating a busy life, give yourself the gift of a morning routine that inspires you. It does not have to be perfect. It just has to be yours.
